Tapping
Tapping is like acupuncture, except, we use our finger tips (instead of needles) to tap on our bodies.
When we focus in on a thought, feeling, or belief...WHILE tapping on meridian points on the body, we can sending calming signals to the brain and reduce stress in the body.
Tapping can also be referred to as EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), which was developed by Gary Craig in the 1990's. You can learn more about EFT's history here in this video.
In this diagram (to the left), the 9 standard meridian points are illustrated.
Are we limited to these 9?...no!
There are many more meridian points and, they're our bodies, we can tap anywhere we want to.
There is, however, interesting research on these 9 meridian points, in particular. They're also a very good place to start if you're new to tapping because you can most easily tap-along with others since they are the most commonly used around the world.
